We are so excited to head to the heart of the nation's capital, The National Mall, to celebrate the day!
All of the festivities are located just a short walk from The River Inn, and like most amazing events in D.C., they are entirely free. Here's the lineup:
First up is the parade, which will head straight down Constitution Ave. between 7th and 17th Streets. This starts at 11:45am, but it will definitely be packed, so get there early! Side note: look for the giant inflatable Uncle Sam.
From 8:00pm to 9:00pm, the west lawn of the Capitol building will host a concert led by the hilarious Tom Bergeron and featuring among many others: The U.S. Army Band, Neil Diamond, Darren Criss, Megan Hilty, and the amazing John Williams.
And finally, the fireworks! If this is your first 4th of July in the capital, you are in for a treat; D.C. knows a thing or two about hosting a great fireworks show. Starting at 9:10pm sharp, turn your gaze to the Washington Monument. They will be visible from most places in the district, including the Kennedy Center, which is 4 blocks from the hotel.
