Come together to celebrate the incredible achievements we have made for Colorado families and children together!\ \ Learn more about our speakers:\ \ Keynote speaker: Sharif El-Mekki, founder and CEO of the Center for Black Educator Development\ A nationally recognized principal and former U.S. Department of Education Principal Ambassador Fellow, Sharif El-Mekki’s work is devoted to developing ongoing learning opportunities for Black teachers and educators serving students of color. Before founding the Center, El-Mekki’s school, Mastery Charter Shoemaker, was awarded a number of accolades - including the prestigious EPIC award for 3 consecutive years of being amongst the top 3 schools in the nation for accelerating student achievement. In 2014, he founded The Fellowship: Black Male Educators for Social Justice, an organization committed to developing and retaining Black male teachers. El-Mekki is a member of the 8 Black Hands podcast, blogs on Phillys7thWard, and serves on numerous boards and committees focused on racial and educational justice. \ \ Special guest Gitanjali Rao, Time’s 2020 Kid of the Year
