Gentle poses, combined with breathing and relaxation techniques, help participants learn to listen to their bodies and make healthy choices for body, mind and spirit. Choice to leave the mat or room, keep eyes open or closed, modify a posture to work with how the participant is feeling at a moment in time. It acknowledges yoga is available to all ages and body types and that trauma comes in many forms ranging from an acute event or lose, daily trauma or the effects systematic oppression.
