We travel backwards in time to relearn spaces and lives of queer Denver from WWII to the late 19th century. We look at how Capitol Hill became the first \"gay neighborhood.\" We retrace the first gay bar called \"The Pit\" in 1939, and others clustered around 17th and Broadway, including the Ship\'s Tavern during WWII. We look at the community around Gail Laughlin, esq., who met her partner here in 1906 and had offices at the Kittridge building in downtown Denver. We will discover many little-known spaces in the tour and end at Union Station where we will look at the life of Jack Hill who was arrested for cross-dressing as a gender non-conforming person. You will discover a heritage lost to the pages of Colorado History. You will become a storyteller for generations whose lives and places have been forgotten, and yet are now remembered.
