Join Douglas Mudd, Curator / Director of the American Numismatic Association’s Edward C. Rochette Money Museum in Colorado Springs, for an introduction to the numismatics of Colorado from the earliest days to the present. Starting with the question "what is Money?" this presentation will go on to discuss the various types of coins that have been produced in the Centennial State based on the rich local sources of gold and silver, which eventually resulted in the foundation of the Denver Mint. Colorado also has a rich history in paper currency, tokens and medals, all of which will be touched upon with examples drawn from the collections of the ANA Money Museum in Colorado Springs.
