The Denver Latino Commission will host its 1st Annual Conference titled DLC Presents 2019 Conference on Empowering Voices of Color: Health, Wellness & Family DENVER, CO - The Denver Latino Commission (DLC) is pleased to announce they will be hosting their 1st Annual Conference that will focus on overall health and wellness. The conference will take place on Saturday, August 10, 2019 from 8:30a to 1p at the Community College of Denver, in the Confluence Bldg., located at 800 Curtis St., Denver, Colorado 80204.The DLC's mission is to oversee, recommend and influence policies that affect the Denver Latino community while maintaining and encouraging a constituent focus. • Sessions for the day:o Citizen's/Immigration Rights & Policies;o Cultural Competency & Awareness;o Education; ando Financial Empowerment.• Resource tables with information in the following areas:o Denver Police Dept., Denver Fire Dept., Denver Sheriff Dept., Denver Metro Partners, Gang Rescue and Support Project (GRASP) and the My Brother's Keeper (MBK) Initiative.o Several local non-profits will also be in attendance.• Mini 9Health Fairo DLC will COVER all COSTS for testing for attendees (First 200).Several commissioners have said how honored they are to continue working for the communities by providing everyone with the opportunity to receive valuable information on resources available to them.
