U.S. EPA Proposal to Reclassify Denver Area to Serious Non-attainment for Ozone
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is proposing to determine that the Denver Metro/North Front Range ozone non-attainment area did not meet the 2008 National Ambient Air Quality Standard (NAAQS) by the specified deadline and should be reclassified from a Moderate to a Serious non-attainment area. EPA will be hold a public hearing at the Agency's regional office in Denver on September 6 to provide the public with an opportunity to present oral testimony on the proposal. Those interested in speaking at the hearing can sign up for a five-minute speaking slot within a one-hour timeframe until September 3. On September 5, 2019, the Agency will post a general agenda for the hearing that will list pre-registered speakers in approximate order at: https://www.epa.gov/ground-level-ozone-pollution/2008-ozone-national-ambient-air-quality-standards-naaqs-nonattainment If you require the service of a sign language interpreter, translator, or other special accommodations such as audio description, please preregister for the hearing and describe your needs by August 22, 2019.
