We got Into town around 2 a.m. to visit our kid at George Washington university. They checked us in with no problem. Was told please call ahead of time and our room would have had heat on. Snow on ground room was chilly, but the heater warmed it right on up. They parked our car. We head up to our room. It was clean. We will go back

Home away from Home when I'm in DC for work
I've been going to The River Inn since Aug of 2017 and from my very first trip to my latest trip this month, everyone there treats me like family. They always remember my name, the things I like and go out of their way to do all the little things to make me comfortable. I love walking in at the beginning of a trip and seeing the smiles and recognition on everyone's faces when they see me! Liz Maglio goes out of her way to anything she can for a guest (including lending me her own gloves one evening when I had a walk up near Dupont!). Carlos at Dish and Drinks is amazing and the food there is next level! Try the crab cakes - they are heaven on a plate

Cozy spot with great staff
I got snowed in and had to stay in the city. I booked a suite that had a kitchenette. It was spacious with a full fridge and 2 burner stove-top and all the dishes you would need to cook. The beds are comfortable and I wanted for nothing. The staff really accommodated my need for an early check-in and late check-out with no extra charge. There are oodles of choices for near-by restaurants and Whole Foods is 2 blocks up if you want to cook instead. Great experience and I'll stay there again

Professor
Great personnel. Very spacious rooms and a great location. I needed to stay an extra day because of family illness, and they were very accommodating and gracious. The restaurant on the first floor is terrific, informal and easygoing

Not a lot of parking but the valet service was perfect and they have a pet park next to a childrens park right down the block! VERY friendly and accomidatable. The rooms were beautifully lit with wall to wall windows. The metros a block away and the capital and attractions are within walking distance. Wont ever stay anywhere else
