A solid 3-star, boutique ...

A solid 3-star, boutique hotel, ideally located in the heart of NW, D.C.. Most importantly, a hidden oasis for those who travel with pets-either as intentional nomads or as visitors-whose tourism would otherwise be hampered by the additional obstacles we so often face in our travel community. We know the struggle all too well-Pets are our family. They are well-behaved and well-trained (more so than many humans we know). Yet, finding acceptable accommodations can be daunting for the countless reasons we, as a community, already know, and all too well. —Not only does this hotel allow dogs (pets), but they welcome them with open arms and at no additional charge. There is a dog park just behind the hotel (which itself is nestled in the dog-friendly, quiet, charming neighborhood of Foggy Bottom). Perfect proximity for day AND night life but most importantly, dog life. While the immediate neighborhood is insulated from the hustle and bustle of NW, be assured that this is an illusion as a few blocks over you’ll find the Kennedy Center, the Potomac, restaurants, nightlife (George Washington University is also a neighbor) and transportation (much of it complimentary) to and from the KC, Smiths, galleries, memorials, etc. It may not be the Hay-Adams (but you knew that already). It is however, extraordinarily friendly, clean, accommodating, comfortable, convenient to everywhere, and I suspect, if you are reading this review, you are most concerned about your dogs (cats, etc) and how their experience and welfare will be ensured by forces outside of your control. Rest assured you have found the perfect place. This hotel really is the best-kept, pet-owners secret in Washington, D.C..

The River Inn is ...

The River Inn is a rarity. It reminds me of a time when quality wasn't defined by style and swag, but by genuine people, quality service and comfortable, spacious and clean accomodations. Great value, great service, great location. Its not going to be for those with a "Ritz" or trendy desire. HOWEVER , its way more invaluable than that. Was my first time here, and I look forward to visiting again. Thank you to Jayda, Benita, Ronald and all the staff. Outstanding stay.

I don't leave a lot of reviews but I wanted to share my wonderful experience here. The customer service here is first class. Bettina and Jada went above and beyond to help with some personal issues I experienced and were just incredible human beings. Everyone else I came into contact with was super friendly and helpful. They seem genuinely happy to work there. The accommodations were better than expected.

This was one of the best hotels I've stayed at in DC. I really loved the experience! Beautiful place, happy people and polite. There are three employees who attend to me that I loved! BETINA , RONALD and the girl of the night (forgot her name). Thank you guys, for sure I will be back 😁

It’s such a quaint hotel with friendly staff that greets you anytime that you walk in and out. The location is so close to the Kennedy Center. My room has a kitchenette and well lit, natural lighting space. The gym is small and intimate and does the job. The complimentary coffee and pastries are very delicious, too!
