The Bill Pickett Invitational Rodeo — Championship Finals is the culminating rodeo event that honors the legacy of Bill Pickett by showcasing Black, Native American, and Latino cowboys and cowgirls in traditional rodeo competition. Held at The Show Place Arena in Upper Marlboro, Maryland, the finals feature events such as bull riding, bronc riding, roping and bulldogging (steer wrestling), along with cultural programming that highlights Black cowboy history. The event spotlights both athletic competition and the historical contributions of communities of color to American western horsemanship.
